Two more sleeps until the GALA Partaaay (see day 49 for details).
The more I hear about the GALA, the more excited I get!
- I ordered the beef (to be specific: Three 2 oz Beef Medallions with a Merlot Demi glaze, goat cheese and chive mashed potatoes, wild mushrooms, buttered baby vegetables--yum)
- my table of ten is going to be lots of fun, as it's stocked with funny, intelligent, articulate, KING supporters - could a GALA evening get any better than that?
- Four Door prizes - one is a huge wine basket overflowing with premium wines
- Marsha said that she can't send me a list of the silent auction items, because with so many still coming in the list is a continuous work in progress (so far she has collected over 37 pieces)
- The auctioneer is none other than Mr. Heather King himself! Although Dean is way, way older than I am, we graduated together from South Delta Secondary School.
- Marsha did say that the live auction items are fantastic and she just picked up the painting yesterday. Apparently the painting was painted for the GALA and just yesterday the caution wet paint sign was removed..(yes, I made that up.)
- 7 nights accommodation at a Mexican Riviera resort,
- $5,000 worth of consulting for home design/renovations,
- Sweet suite: one night accommodation at the Tsawwassen Inn plus a $75 gift certificate at Browns Social House
- A spectacular 36" x 36" acrylic painting titled A Path Less Followed valued at $1600.00 by White Rock artist Donna Mendes. Click to see Donna's website

I know this doesn't look like it's 36" X 36", but Marsha said it was! She also said that the picture is even more breathtaking in person.
BUILDING OF THE LITTLE HOUSE
Jim Stimson and Joan McDonald, Heather's mom |
TWO PHOTO SHOOTS:
1st:Heather and the other Delta Girls - Power House girls of Delta that is:
The girls: Photo double for Lois Jackson, Kim Baird, Anne Peterson, Vicki Huntington, Kerry-Lynne Findlay, Heather King |
2nd Photo shoot -- taken way back in January, but I had to show you Heather's pink outfit
Heather and council played dress-up:
Heather was right, "Too bad Edgar was not here to celebrate the opening of the new archives building." |
I am not so sure, but I think she is either Little Bo Peep or Pinkie (see below), but she looks great either way!
A“Pinkie” by Thomas Lawrence. |
Better yet, contact Marsha at 604 220 8968 and book a table for the Gala!
Come to the Gala and party like a KING with the KING!
