Heather King 4 Mayor Newsletter The Home Stretch  November 13th 2011 Well done!  Here we have Marina, receiving a gift of appreciation for being our hostess since the Headquarters was opened!  Thank you Marina for being my dependable, cheerful and welcoming hostess.  You set the tone for the campaign to everyone who walks in the door of headquarters! Marina drives in from Surrey everyday to help me! WOW! We are now in the home stretch.  Congratulations to many of you who have never left my side throughout this campaign.  I can't say enough thanks to each one of you.  You are amazing!  I feel I have already won.  The Victory Party will be held at our home - please come to be fed and hugged - regardless of the outcome, we have gained so much by your friendship!  Address: 922 50th Street Tsawwassen 7:00pm and of course the date is Saturday November 19th. Another Prize well earned! Margaret receives another gift of appreciation  Margaret has worked in the headquarters on the phones, encouraging people to come to the polls since we opened.  Her gentle tone and pleasant manner have won me lots of votes already - I'm sure.  Thank you so much Margaret!  This has been a busy week.  Let me see, Toastmasters speech in North Delta went well, followed by the Remembrance day ceremonies in both North Delta and Ladner. I went to an opening of the solar powered operation at Boundary Bay airport (in the rain) and a charity function in Ladner (with 400 in attendance) for seeing eye dogs.  Today we put up signs and fixed signs in North Delta, spoke to a group of cyclists at "South Shore Cycle" and was interviewed by two groups of business men and influential people in the North Delta Community.  Add canvassing 680 homes, designing advertising, administrative work, fundraising and being a mom and you have a week!  My, it goes by fast.  We have 500 homes in Ladner and Tsawwassen left to canvass.  I won't dishearten you to tell you how much work in North Delta is left.  Suffice it to say I need your help in this last week.  Canvassing, canvassing, canvassing! Sincerely, Heather King Mike wins a prize At South Shore Cycle today, after the talk on how to improve cycling opportunities for residents in Delta, we had a raffle.  Afterall, what better way to get people to stay to the end? The anticipation of winning a present - right? Congratulations also to Tony. Congratulation Tony! He had help in the draw (2 tickets) Stay tuned as the prize for the most homes canvassed (can you say Louise...?) will be announced soon! Colleen Hardie.. my neighbour and friend has canvassed 1000 homes! Yahoo!  Thank you all so much!  I know this has been at the expense of your family time. Thank you for your energy and passion!  Mayors Debate The Mayors debate is continuously being televised on Delta Cable channel 4.  Monday November 14th it runs from 7am to 1pm.  The rest of the schedule will be added to my web page. This is a great way for people to see the four candidates in action.   We are attempting to have this debate added to my webpage  www.heatherking.org  and hopefully it will be up by Tuesday for those who do not get cable.
